It was not 'useless'. It was supposed to cover the boundaries of the Thomasian gallery & signify the dominance of the school in the annual UAAP battle. 35 overall championship titles & 10 consecutive at that! We give a 'flying fuck' to proudly raise that banner, even against Ateneo, La Salle, & UP, since none can even come close to the achievements UST had mounted in an organized collegiate sports tournament. If you want to take the battle outside the UAAP, UST can also boast of acamedic feats. In our own right, we want to emphasize those achievements & be proud of our alma mater by that simple banner. It means something to us. If it does not mean anything, & if it looked like a 'basahan' to you, so be it. For we care less about your opinion in a matter of school pride and loyalty.
