I know we no longer hold Slipknot in high regard as we used to but it's still worth talking about anyway considering that it's a new album. It's out almost a month from now and so far everything they've been saying are true. There's definitely more blast beats, chainsaw riffs and the approach is a lot heavier than the previous release... if the title track is to be trusted.

From Wikipedia:

Quote:All Hope Is Gone is the fourth studio album by American metal band Slipknot. It is scheduled for release on August 25, 2008 in the United Kingdom and the following day in the United States by Roadrunner Records. Noted to have begun preparation in October 2007, recording was due to begin in January 2008, but was pushed back to February.[2] It will be the band's first studio release since 2004's Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses), making All Hope Is Gone their fourth studio album as well as the first musical output from the band since Corey Taylor and Jim Root's mainstream success with Stone Sour, Joey Jordison's stints with Korn, Ministry and 3 Inches of Blood, Shawn Crahan's side project Dirty Little Rabbits and Sid Wilson's solo project. All Hope Is Gone is also the band's first studio album on a major label to be recorded in their home state of Iowa.A special Japanese edition of All Hope Is Gone released on August 20, 2008 will contain an exclusive bonus track, and will be packaged in a six-fold digipak with a 40-page deluxe booklet and bonus DVD, containing a documentary of the album's conception.[3] Special editions of the album containing bonus DVDs are also scheduled for release elsewhere.

Sorry for the obscene amount of downtime guys. Some Thai motherfucker hacked into a security exploit of the forum after I missed an update and took it down including the whole website so every data has been corrupted. My backup is waaay back from the free host where I beta tested this so it's quite outdated.

That, and we also switched hosts since the previous one was clunky. I think this should be better and last longer.

That is all (a Kuito catchphrase, IIRC)
PS: I'm in the process of re-integrating some of the features I remember so bear with me.

hello all...Let me be the first to get the ball rolloing. For those who remember I go back back to the good ol' days of the old SKB. I was under the Subliminal. Its good to see this place back. And hopefully we can resurrect SKB back to its glory of yester year. And hopefully we can bring back many of the old school gang. Anywho.. My name is Matt and I live in Alberta Canada. I used to be a die hard slipknot fan but as I have matured and gotten older(still not any wiser..haha) so have my musical tastes. In the last couple of years I have gotten into alot of black metal but have also at the same time gone back to my roots and revived my love of Megadeth. Funny how i ended up right back where i started..haha Oh well...back to what i was saying..My musical taste is quite broad ranging from the beatles to slayer...and everything in between.

Peace,
Quote:Detroit's WALLS OF JERICHO has tapped SLIPKNOT/STONE SOUR frontman Corey Taylor to produce its new EP. The band is recording the effort over a 14-day period at Corey's home studio in Iowa. "We have begun tracking five songs and obviously we're all very excited," said drummer Dustin Schoenhofer.

The forthcoming EP will be included with WALLS OF JERICHO's "Live in South America" DVD, which was filmed this past August and is tentatively scheduled for release in March 2008 via Trustkill.

Taylor met WALLS OF JERICHO when the band shared the stage with STONE SOUR on The Family Values Tour. Corey said in a statement, "I love this band, and the fact that their trust in me makes me incredibly grateful. I'm so excited to do this — it's going to be amazing!!! I've never produced anything like this before, so I'm going a little crazy. I can't wait."
The board's a little dull at the moment but in due time it should resemble the Slipknotboard we once knew, only with less stringent rules and a much powerful software.
